Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager – Andover/Newbury/Basingstoke
Our client is a leading Building Contractor providing a comprehensive service successfully delivering a wide range of projects across all construction sectors. They undertake new build and refurbishment works for a mix of blue chip clients by traditional design & build and partnering procurement methods. Project values up to £8M.
As part of their continued planned expansion they are now looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their Southampton based team.
The successful candidate will:
*Have a proven track record in project surveying and financial control.
*Have a minimum of 5 years construction experience including working with JCT Contracts.
*Have excellent organisational skills and be competent in MS Office.
*Be commercial, dynamic, innovative and able to work on one’s own initiative.
*Demonstrate excellent motivational and communication skills.
*Have extensive experience in dealing with client professionals and subcontractors.
*A relevant degree, HND or professional qualification such as CIOB or RICS would be an advantage.
Job Description – Expectations
Your job title is Commercial Manager/Quantity Surveyor. This is a senior management position within the company. You will be expected to profitably survey and/or manage a number of construction projects within our clients value range. Your assistance with contract negotiation would be welcomed, bid management, processing initial enquiries and leads and the wider marketing representation of our client.
The works you manage must be completed on time, meet the highest quality criteria and meet wherever possible a goal of improved tender margins. You would be expected to work under your own initiative and to maintain a high standard of personal and professional conduct with clients and design teams to ensure the reputation of our client.
