Senior Project Quantity Surveyor – Salary DoE but above industry average.
Our client an employer of choice based in Southampton is looking to add to their team of Surveyors. They have openings for intermediate and Senior level Surveyors.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will lead and deliver in all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion. Dealing with a number of projects at the same time, varying in complexity, ranging in value from £5 – £50m. Provide a comprehensive, accurate and value driven service for large, high profile and key commercial, corporate and residential clients.

Manages, oversees co-ordinates and delegates activities of the function covering:feasibility estimates, cost planning (presenting with no supervision), contract procurement, tender documentation (project leadership role), tender evaluation (competent in tender reports), value engineering and commercial awareness, fee generation, dispute resolution, post contract management (competent in cost reporting).
Play an actual part in sector specialisms, technical excellence and the development of thought leadership and the development of best practices.
Drives performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process with his team.
Act as a supervisor for current graduates and work with them to achieving competences for the APC.
Works on projects of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors and appropriate problem solving. Acts as an advisor to subordinates to resolve technical problems.
Accountable for briefing the team on the project scope to ensure roles and responsibilities are understood.
Manages the resources on project and within the team to drive maximum efficiencies.
Manages projects effectively using APIC, Pinnacle/ePMP and other appropriate management systems/protocols.
Be aware of and develop marketing opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department, in order that they may assist in following up potential leads enabling the development of new business.
FUNCTIONAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
Cost Planning: Area Schedules, Measurement of Quantities and entry onto Estimating software, Cost planning, Presenting Cost plan.
Tender Documentation: BQ/Pricing Schedule Measurement, Preliminaries/Appendices, Team/Project leader.
Tender Evaluation: Review and Analysis of Tenders, Tender Reports.
Value Engineering and Commercial Awareness.
Post Contract Management: Preparation of Valuations, Final Accounts, Cost Reporting, Change Control.
Fee Generation through existing Client Relationship and repeat business, supporting the development of new relationships on behalf of the business.
Able to work under own initiative where appropriate, but also keen to work as part of a team and to be mentored and to develop and progress in their career development.
Effective verbal and written communication skills – Client facing.
Very good numeracy skills.
Keenness to challenge, but in an engaging, not aggressive way.
An enthusiasm to go the extra mile, to provide great client service.
Articulate and able to interface directly and confidently with Client Leads and Design Team Principals. Achieves the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the company.

Ideally Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification and hold Chartered status.
Proven 5 year post qualification experience and 8 years in total.
